Serenity: Flour child

Serenity as Flour Child

An opportunity to work in studio with model  Serenity Hart arrived, care of Toni Wallachy.  With the Free Her Hart exhibit opening Feb 4, my thoughts were along the lines of simple, black and white portraits.  Toni, naturally, had grander ideas, and a photo series of portraits featuring Serenity partially covered in flour was the result. The flour was applied with a sieve and you have to be really careful around the eyes. Also, you  can’t spend too much time with it as the flour will turn to paste as it encounters moisture.  We were, however, able to make a few shots and again, hats off to Toni for the idea.  Watch my flickr site for several images from this series.
